Mr Bergl, in the course of an interview, said that his original meat tender stated that it was intended to draw the meat supplies, as far as possible, from the colonies. The capital of the company wae privately supplied. He had supplied to the old company at 3£d, the matter of carriage being an additional 2d. The company had made a profit of £6,000,000 in two years and a-half.
