BAILED. —September 19. Burrumbeet, s.s., 1,561 tons, Waller, for Sydney via Cook Strait. Passengers; For Lyttelton—Misses Shaw, Lovett, Captain Lovett, Rev. Pybus, Messrs Thorpe, Cbalmer. For Wellington—Mesdames Finlayson, Bennet, Messrs Finlayson, Gavin, Campbell, Cato; and ten steerage for all ports. The alterations to, the Rotomahana are nearly completed, will be floated into the graving dock for cleaning and painting when the Talune comes out. The Corinua arrived at Westport at eleven this morning. Mr F. J. Sullivan authorises us to say that the trawler Express has not yet been sold, though negotiations for her transference to Lyttelton have been conducted with a Christchurch firm. The Mararoa left Sydney at 4 p.m. yesterday for Auckland and East Coast ports. She is due here on Sunday week. The Monowai left Melbourne at 5 p.m. yesterday for Hobart, the Bluff, and Dunedin. She is due here on Wednesday next. The Tarawera, from Sydney, arrived at Wellington at two this morning, and sails at 6 p.m. for Lyttelton and Dunedin. She is due at this port on Saturday, and proceeds direct to Wellington same day to resume the ferry service between Wellington and Lyttelton. The Waikarc, from Dunedin and Lyttelton, arrived at Wellington at ciriit thb morning, and sailed at 4 p.m. for East Coast ports and Sydney. LIZZIE BELL FUND. The secretary of the above fund (Mr >l. Wagstaff, of I’ihama) writes in reply to a communication from a Dunedin gentleman, that though there are now no vciy great cases of distress, there are three widowed mothers at Home, who (from information given by Captain Rees) are in need of help, and it is the Committee's desire to remit an amount to each of them, as also an amount to Captain Rees, and to Tickle and Aibuckle (apprentices). He states that £5 each was given to Messrs Barron, Tickle, Aibuckle, Gunn, and Harding out of the fund wlnu they left here, and as Messrs Barron, Gunn, and Harding would probably soon obtain employment, it was not thought necessary to give them further assistance. The offer of the correspondent to make a canvass among the shipping people was accepted, with the remit that the following subscriptions have been forwarded : —Dalgety and Co., £sos; Murray, Roberts, and Co.. £3 os; -Thomas
