LATE MINING.
The First Chance report: “ Start dredging again this morning.” The No Town Creek report (per the secretary):—‘‘Visited claim. Boiler, engine, and tumbler in position. Housing side finished.” Our Christchurch correspondent wires “ Albert Crumpton, late master of the Duller Consolidated Company’s dredge, has been appointed master of the Grey River Extended Company’s dredge. The price paid by the latter company for Dobson No. 2 Company’s dredge (£2,100) included Dobson No. 2 claim. A meeting of directors will be held at an early date Jo go thoroughly into the question of lengthening the ladder of the dredge, and also to consider the best means of working the claim and bringing the company’s operations to a successful issue. The Red Jack Company’s dredge begins operations next week.”
