The Hon. Mr Ward laid the foundation stone of the new Ashbnrton post office yesterday. The hon. gentleman gave figures to show the progreps of the town. The building will cost £4,200. The Postmaster. General stated in the eonrse of his address that he had under consideration the question of reducing the postage on newspapers.
