CRICKET.
WELLINGTON v. CANTERBURY. CHRISTCHURCH, January 19. The cricket match Wellington v. Canterbury was commenced at Lancaster Park, at 1.40 to-day, when the weather was dull and threatening, and a cold wind blowing from tho east. Barry, tho local captain, won the toss, and, the wicket being fast, sent the visitors into tho field, Sims and Wigley facing tho bowling of Tucker and Upnam. At two o’clock 14 runs had been scored without the loss of a wicket.
