Association, at their last half-yearly meeting, resolved that steps be token by the Board of Management to counteract the great distress in the trade caused by the introduction of labor-saving machinery. A London cable says: " The Manchester cotton operatives demand an advance in wages. The masters refuse to concede this, as they consider the demand premature.'*
