Tallow : Mutton, fine quality, 23s 6d ; medium, 21s 6d, Beef, fine, 235; medium, 20s 6d. • BERLIN, November 16 (Received November 17,1898, at 1 p.m.) Count Stolberg Wornigerode, captain of the 15th Regiment of the-Oarman Uhlans, has been sentenced to forcy months’ im-, prisonmont, and dismissed the army, for killing Sergeant Steinhardt, quartermaster of the regiment. During the. late manoeuvres in Alsace an army of cooks spoiled some food. The count „ called Steinhardt to account for this, ajid he excused himself by saving he was absent foraging. Count Stoloerg, after abusing him, drew his sword and cut Steinhardt on the leg and head. The sergeant died without recovering consciousness. LONDON, November 16. Many of the Banffshire's Queensland rabbits arrived in a rotten condition. A man named Turner, who in July last shot Judge Parry while presiding over the Manchester County Court, has been sentenced to twenty years’ imprisonment. NEW YORK, November 16. It is announced that Madame Adelina Patti will marry Baron Cederstorm, one of the Swedish Court chamberlains. NEW YORK, November 16. Showers of what are known as Leonid meteors, the most brilliant ever seen in America, are travelling in the direction of the constellation Orion, and have illuminated the whole of Now York. The fall is accompanied by a hissing noise.

At a meeting of the Committee of the Industrial and Agricultural and Pastoral Associations last night it was resolved to form a limited liability company for the purpose of erecting a hall, to bo called the Canterbury Agricultural and Industrial Hall.
