GOOD TEMPLARY.

That the members of the Hope of Dunedin intend to make a successful, growing, and profitable lodge was evident by their meeting last Friday, the Rattray street Hall being filled with members and visitors. Bro. J. M. Saudeman presided. Four candidates were initiated • and added to the roll of membership. The new officers went through their various duties admirably, showing that the confidence bestowed on them was not misplaced. After the usual routine business the Chief Templar read a letter he had received, and also reported having visited Bro. H. S. Fish, M.H.R. The members were deeply affected by the report and, reading of the letter, in which Bro. Fish said that, whatever happens, he is fully resigned to the will of God. It was resolved that the Chief Templar and secretary write to Bro. Fish, conveying, to him the deepest sympathy of the lodge in his painful affliction, and the pleasure it would be to the members to meet him again in lodge assembled, of which he was the first Chief Templar. The Committee on the Care of the Sick reported improvement in a sister who had been for some time on the sick list. A brother who had been also on the sick list, but now recovered, was welcomed on his return to the lodge. The good of the Order was spoken to by representatives of the Pioneer, Lily of the Valley, Star of Freedom, Star of Roslyn, Dayspring, and Hope of Caversham. Harmony was contributed to by several brothers and sisters, and, after it was resolved that an official visit be paid to the Hope of Caversham Lodge on Thursday, a most successful meeting was brought to a close by singing the closing ode.
