VOLUNTEER INTELLIGENCE.
The City Guards paraded for monthly inspection <n Monday t veiling, when there was a full attendance of members. An hoar's stnady comply drill was gone through, and" subsequently the przss presented to the corps by citizens and tired for during the past season were handed to the winners. The donors were Messrs J. Lean (Princes street), J. aud J. Arthur JGeorge street), Jimes Tait (Stuart, street), Yolanteer E Dray, aud exVolnnirfrs J. Given and J. Moir. A hearty vote of thanks to the gentlemen named was recorded. A number of recruits were elected and sworn iu, bringing the roll of the company nearly up to tho maximum strength. _______________
