The Mararoa left Dunedin wharf this afternoon for Sydney via Cook Strait. The Rotokino will arrive at Dunedin to-morrow add take in cargo at the cross wharf. The Waihora, from Sydney via East Coast ports, arrived :it Dunedin at 0.45 p.m. yesterday. She left the U.S.S. Company's Margaret street wharf. Svdney. on June 3 at 6.15 p.m., cleared Port Jackson Heads at 6.55 p.m., breasted the Three Kings at 0.10 p.m. on the 6th, and arrived at Auckland at 8.45 a.m. on the 7th; she left again on the Bth, called at East Coast ports, and leaving Lyttelton on the 13th at 5 p.m. arrived as above. She experienced from Sydney to Auckland moderate westerly winds till the 3rd, followed by fresh southerly and easterly winds with dull cloudy weather to arrival, thence light variable \vin,ds and fine weather to Lyttelton, followed by str.mg westerly winds to arrival. The Ohau, from Oiraam, arrived at Port Chalmers at 10.30 a.m. yesterday. The Taupo, having been cleaned, painted, and received a thorough overhaul, was floated out of the graving dock ou Saturday afternoon, and sailed yesterday foreuoon for the Bluff. The schooner Enterprise sailed down from Dun-. edin on Saturday evening and anchored in Carey Bay in readiness for hauling on to Isbisters slip to be stripped, caulked, ana recoppered, Messrs Knewstub Bros, being the successful tenderers for the work , _•■• The barque Onyx was towed dowed.frqm Dunedin on Saturday evening and anchored in Deborah Bav in readiness to sail for the North. ' The liarquentine Jerfalcon was. towed down from Dunedin on Saturday night and berthed alungsHe the Monowai to tranship cargo. The Hawea arrived this morning from Welling; ton, and anchored in the quarantine ground to tranship a quantity of dynamite. She left Wellington at noon on the 12th inst. The Jlonowai left the Bowen pier this afternoon for Melbourne via the Bluff and Hobart.

NEW PASSENGER STEAMER FOR NEW ZEALAND. On April 22 Messrs Mackio and Thomson launched' at Govan the steamer Duchess, which has been built for Mr J. H. Williams, of Wei. lington. She is 143 ft long, 26ft broad, and lift 3iu deep, and is intended for passenger traffic between Wellington and neighboring seaside resorts, and will carry about 1,000 persons. Triple-expansion engines by Messrs Muir and Houston, with cylinders ISin, 261n, and 40in diameter respectively, and a stroke of 27in, will be provided. The vessel will have two funnels, ana will be elegantly fitted out. THE DELPHIC. The s.s. Delphic, owned jointly by the Shaw, Savill, and Albion Company arid the Oceanic Steam Navigation Company, which was launched by Messrs Harland and Wolff on January 0 last, has been somewhat delayed in completion, but it was mentioned at the annual meeting of the former company, held in London on April 29, that she was then nearly ready for sea, and would shortly take her place with the other steamers of the line in the New Zealand trade, calling at Hobart en route. The Delphic will be one of the largest cargo steamers that has visited this port, having a gross tonnage of 9,000. She is twinscrew, and has a length of 475 ft, with a beam of 65ft.
