Tenders will be opened on Thursday, and the first payment of interest will be made in January, 1898. BRISBANE, June 14. The Colonial Treasurer states that a new loan for public works was authorised last session, the proceeds to bo retained in London and utilised for the repayment of interest when it becomes due.
