THE COURTS-TO-DAY.
CITY POLICE COURT. (Before Messrs J. P. Jones and J, Hyman, J.P.B ) Dbunkenness. A first offender, for whom Mr Stilling appeared, was convioted and discharged. Breach of Br-LA\vs James Dodda was charged with, on the 30th August, at South Dunedin, leaving his horse and oart unattended in a public street.—He pleaded guilty.—After Sergeant-major Bevin had stated the facts of the case, accused was fined Is and oosts. Indecent Assault.— Dennis M'Doumll (15) was charged with, on or about the 15th August, at Dunedin, assaulting a girl under the age of ten years, and with, on or about the tame date, assaulting another girl under the age of twelve years. —Mr Stilling appeared for the accused.—The cases were heard with closed doors.—After evidence extending over some hours had been heard, the acoused was committed for trial on the first obarge v and in the second acoused was remanded, on Mr Selling's application, till Friday. Bail was allowed, accused in two sureties of L 75 each.
