BENEVOLENT INSTITUTION TRUSTEES.
The weekly meeting of the Benevolent Institution Trustees was held this afternoon ; present—Messrs A. Solomon (chairman), H. Gourley, R. Wilson, C. Haynee, W. Swan, and J. Green. Accounts amounting to L 453 10a 3d were passed for payment, Mr Dabinett, storekeeper, Owake, called attention to the case of John Douglas, a resident in that locality, who had four little children quite unable to take care of themselves. The father could not pay anyone to manage them unless he was assisted by the Trustees.—The Chairman said the matter had been previously before them, when they declined to give help on the recommendation of the local body.—The secretary was instructed to reply referring the writer to the Board's previous decision.
The Secretary reported that Hugh Cameron
died in the Institution of pneumonia on the 27th nit, aged sixty seven. The Chairman reported that Miss Hilgendorf, school-mistress, had written to him resigning her position aa from the 30th September.—lt was agreed to accept the resignation, and to take steps to fill the vacancy. Forty relief cases were dealt with.
