Penguin, s.s., 442 tons, Bernech, for Nelson via intermediate ports. Passengers: For Lyttolton—Miss Blackmore, Mr and Mrs Roper. Mrs Lake, Messrs Blackmore, Beverley. For Wellington—Messrs Potter, Lundon; and two steerage. The Beautiful Star left the Dunedin wharf at 10 p.m. yesterday with passengers and cargo for Oamaru. The Invercargill, with cargo from the South, arrived at Rattray street wharf at 2 a.m. to-ilav. She left Invercargill on the sth inst. at 1 p.m., had thick weather, and reached WaiIcawa at 10 p.m. same day; left that port at 1 p.m. on the 6th inst., and had light N.B. winds with veiy thick weather to arrival. The schooner L'zzie Ellen left Dunedin at an early hour this morning with cargo for Fortrose. The ship Rangitikei is rapidly putting out cargo at the Victoria wharf. The Perguin left the Hattray street wharf for Nelson, via intermediate ports this afternoon. Having discharged all her cargo and taken in ballast the barque Helen Denny was towed down the Victoria Channel to Port Chalmers this forenoon, and will there take in cargo for London. The Wakatipu, Captain Wheeler, from Sydney via Wellington, arrived alongside the George street pier at 9 a.m. to-day. Mr Touett, her purser, reports leaving Sydney at 5.5 p.m. on the 26th ult. ; cleared the Heads at 6 p.m., and breasted Cape Farewell at 2 a.m. on the 2nd inst.; passed Stephen Island at 6.30 p.m. same day, and arrived at Wellington at L4O p.m. on the 3rd; sailed again at 6 5 p.m. on the sth, arriving as above. From Sydney she experienced strong N.E. wind, with high sea and thick rainy weather until nearing the New Zealand coast; thence fine weather to arrival at Wellington, and from that port easterly winds and thick foggy weather to arrival, autpplnr Telegrams.
