Contrary to general anticipation, no buyers from beyond this distiiot were present at the sale, but there was a very targe gathering of Bottlers from the Plain and surrounding districts. The first lot submitted was a small farm of 20 acres within half a mile of Greytown railway station, and this, after keen competition, found a puicbaser in Mr William Laurence at L2B 5i per acre. Lot 2, adjoining, and also consisting of 20 acres, fell to Mr Alexander Hastie'a (sen.), fcid at L 25, and the sail o buyer acquired lot 3. «ay 52 acres (all in oats), estimated to yield 100 fcusbels per acre, at L3l per aoro. Lot 4, the homestead block $49 acres), was bought by Mr John B.
