PROCLAMATION OF THE NEW EMPEROR.
Berlin, March 13,
The Emperor Frederick 111. in his proclamation hopes to make Germany a centre of peace. He has addressed a letter to Prince Bismarck, in which he expresses gratitude to him, and relies on his advice and assistance to avoid violent political changes. His Majesty urges the observance of religious toleration, the support of economic progress, and enforcement of economical administration in order to lighten taxation. Prince Bismarck’s indisposition is attributed to over-excitement.
THE FUNERAL.
London, March 13.
The Prince of Wales and Prince Albert Victor leave to-day for Berlin in order to attend Emperor William’s funeral.
THE EMPEROR’S HEALTH Berlin, March 14,
A bulletin issued to-day states that the Emperor Frederick’s health is in a favorable condition, and it is also announced that the issue of regular bulletins has been stopped.
The Emperor Frederick’s proclamation has been everywhere favorably regarded, but the bulletins about his health are distrusted.
