The Auckland Cricketers' Assoc : ation. by a majority of 9 to 7. last night decided to abandon th 3 contemplated southern tour this season.

The betting on the Auckland Cup is : 100 to 10 against Salvage and Libeller; 100 to 9 against Welcome Jack, Turquoise, and Tigridia; 100 to 6 against Pipi, Leonora, Vanguard, Fusi'e Liverpool, Black Rose, Tim Whiffler, and Necklace ; 100 to 5 against The Poet, Lady Emma, Oudeis, and Administrator. A later telegram says that Black Rose, on the strength of his Welling* ton victory, is now at 10 to 1 for the Auckland Cup. Refrigerator has been scratched for the Hutt Park Spring Handicap. Wapiti and Pirate have been scratched for all engagements at the D.J.C. spring meeting. The annual cricket match Bank of New Zealand v. Combined Banks was played on the Caledonian Ground yesterday, and resulted in a draw. The Combined Banks made 76 runs in their first innings and 63 in their second, and the Bank of New Zealand 67 in their first and 31 for one wicket in their second innings. Hassall (13 and 6), M'Kinnon (30 and 8), and Tewsley (8 and 24) were the highest scorers for the combined team ; J. H. Morris (26 and 14), Fenwick (23), and Campbell (1 and 16, not out) highest for the other side. The Selection Committee of the Cricketers' Association have chosen the following to practise for the interprovinoial match:— Austin T., Boddihgton, Cooke F. H., Collinson, Carr, Drabble, Dixon, Espie W., Frith C, Fairbairn, Fleming A. W., Parker, Rose, Rattray, 3pring, Skitch, Turnbull P., Wratt, and Wyinoks. Mr L. M. Harris is leaving Danedin, and his services cannot be obtained. Mr W. CrawBhaw has been written to for the purpose of ascertaining if the Committee can count on bis assistance, The above-named players will ptactise on the Carisbrook ground as in previous years. We understand that the Selection Committee have requested the Association to arrange for a match on two Saturdays next month, between a probable In'erprovincial Eleven and sixteen colts, wifcb Cooke and Frith.

WELLINGTON SPRING MEETING. The Wellington Racing Club's meeting was commenced at the. Hatt to-day. The weather was glorious and the attendance good.
