MINES ADRIFT
DANGER ON SOUTH COAST OF
ENGLAND
Rec. 10:30 a.m. LONDON, Dec. 21. Ships and coast observers today reported 29 mines adrift off the south coast of England. The Air Ministry issued a, warning of a new gale in the Channel area. One mine which was washed up on the Hastings seafront made necessary a diversion of traffic. Explosions can be heard along most of the south coast as mines blow up or are exploded by naval parties.
