GARDEN RECEPTION
WEDDING IN CHRISTCHURCH Beautifully decorated with banks of white Madonna lilies, pink-tinted dwarf maples, and roses, St. John's Church, Latimer .Square,. made a charming setting for. the wedding of Joyce Mary, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Cox, of Christchurch, to Brian William, second- son of Mrs. Rodie and the late Mr. D. Rodie, of Wellington.
' The Rev. Canon G. N. Watson officiated at the ceremony.
The bride, who was given in marriage by her father,- chose white ■ sheer for her classic gown, made with-sculp-tured hip-length bOdice, full bell sleeves, and sweeping.. trained skirt. Her blonde hair threaded with pearls made a natural coronet, to which was attached the fully-gathered, finger-tip-length veil of uncut tulle. Her shower bouquet was of pastel pink buttonhole roses, • and her only jewellery, a filigree necklace .brought from the Middle East by the bridegroom when on active service.
The bridesmaid, Miss Patricia Ballin, was also gowned in white. Her bouquet was matched with a spray of tiny pink roses trimming her pink crinoline picture hat. Nicolas Scobie^MacKenzie was the small page, who wore a white Gainsborough suit with ruffled blouse and long satin trousers. Mr. Albert Milne, of Wellington, was best man.
The reception was" held in the garden at the hpme of the. bridels parents, where the guests were received by Mr. and Mrs. Cox and Mrs. Rodie.
