MOTOR DRIVERS' LICENCES
The three months' limit within which a person was allowed to renew a motor driver's licence after its expiry date without undergoing a compulsory driving test has been extended to 12 months under an amended regulation issued last night. The local bodies, however, have been given discretionary power and may require any person seeking to renew a driving licence to undergo a test. ■ The question of extending the three months' period was raised by an Opposition member during the recent session of Parliament, and the Minister of Transport (Mr. O'Brien) slated then that he would look into the matter.
