WAR MEMENTO
HISTORIC PIECE OF STONE
A piece of stone from the Houses of Parliament, London, has been suitably mounted and hung on the walls of the corridor near the rooms occupied by the Speaker of the House of Representatives (the Hon. F. W. Schramm) at Parliament House. . The stone is the gift of Mr. Gilbert Ward, of Timaru, and it was accompanied by a certificate showing that it was part of the structure of the Houses of Parliament damaged by enemy air raid on May 10. 1941. The stone has been mounted on a piece of polished wood. Superimposed on it is a lead seal carrying a reproduction of the Big Ben clock tower.
