THREE. DIVISIONS IN TRIAL

AUCKLAND, This Day The prospects lor a very successful fixture by the Avondale Jockey Club at Ellersiie tomorrow are very bright, and it only needs firie weather to make it a huge success. The track dried up a bit early this week, but it will be easy even though no further rain falls. 'There will be ten races, the opening event having been divided into three sections. The Avondaie Cup should furnish a spirited contest despite the fact that the class is not as good as it might be considering the valuable stake. However, it will be a fitting introduction to the new season. Chung Chong has done well since his race at headquarters three weeks ago, and he will be one of the prime favourites. La Fillette and the Jellicoe Handicap winner Hippodrome, and perhaps Abbey Fox. Broiedame, and Beau Dink among the lightweights, will make it interesting. Constitution has a big impost, and he has not raced up to expectations in his latest outings. Coronaire may be a fine galloper thjs season, for he has size and speed, and it may be mainly a matter of his condition! The Flying Handicap will give Nawab his chance to stage a real come-back, for he has done everything right since his last outing three weeks ago, and he is one who may have a brilliant season. Regal March and Theophilus Cwho was under a cloud early this week), two winter winners, will also be in keen demand, as will Sweet Biscuit. Kentish. Tiger Tan, and the smart filly White Blaze, although the last-named may need a race. However, Nawab stands out. If Master Robin, King's Pride, Balmacara, and Black Ace were the only starters in the Guineas it would still provide a thrill, for this quartet promise to be the best of those engaged. They may_ be favoured in that order, although if it is wet or heavy going King's Pride may not be so favoured.
