RATE OF PAY FOR WOMEN
Rec. 9 a.m. CANBERRA, September 2. National security regulations have been issued providing that women in certain "vital" industries must be paid a minimum of 75 per cent, of the minimum rate paid to males. A list of vital industries will be declared later. I The Minister of Labour (Mr. E. J. Hollowav) said the new rates of pay would assist the re-establishment in civil life of members of the defence forces by facilitating operations in industries in which women were employed.
