OVER 20,000 RELEASED
MEN IN SINGAPORE CAMPS
LONDON, September 1. A relief party which was dropped from the air released more than 20,000 Allied prisoners of war and internees from five camps in Singapore. A medical and administrative team •which was dropped on Singapore reports that so far it has given a preliminary examination to more than 16 000 prisoners of war and internees in four of the 23 camps, specially treating .the many sick. A special edition of the Services newspaper "Seac, including a review of the war, is being dropped in the camps. Air mail editions of "The Times" and the "Daily Telegraph" are being flown from Britain for the prisoners.
