FRANCE INVITED
SIGNING IN CHINA
PARIS, September .2,
The Chinese Government has invited France to send a representative to the formal signing of the surrender of the Japanese forces in China in Nanking next week. The representative will probably be the French military attache at Marshal Chiang Kaishek's headquarters.. The first contingents of the French army of occupation for Indo-China are expected to sail early this month. Chinese and British troops who are temporarily occupying the northern end southern zones respectively will fee withdrawn as the number of French forces increases.
said: "It seems both fitting and just that this enemy whom you mastered completely on the battlefield should receive from you the orders which will destroy all his power to force war again on peaceful nations."
