The Dutch Minister of Economic Affairs, Mr. Vos, said in a broadcast that though Holland was at present in low gear it was hoped it would shift into second gear within a few months. The coal situation, which was the key to Dutch problems, was improving. The tfansport position was considerably eased. Shoe factories were able to supply at least enough for emergency needs. The building industry would get enough glass to ensure the people of badly-damaged towns protection in the winter.
