IMPORTS OF WATCHES
O.C. AUCKLAND, This Day. Advice which indicates that further supplies of Swiss watches cannot be expected in New Zealand for a considerable time was received in Auckland recently. It stated that watches were urgently required in the occupied countries which had been released and that the Swiss Government would supply them. An Auckland jeweller said yesterday that watches were purchased from Switzerland by Britain on behalf of New Zealand and future supplies were likely to be governed by the extent to which Britain was able to make credits available to New Zealand.
