HELP FOR OTHERS
HAPPINESS CLUB'S WORK
_ Early last month, the Blue Bird Happiness Club held «a very successful sale of work in the W.C.T.U. Hall Txu> sale was opened by the Mayoress, Mrs' W. Appleton, who gave a very delightful talk on the word "Happiness." Oa the main stall there was a varied and interesting display of work by the arts and crafts section under the leadership of Mrs. Stuart. The programme included a play, "The Bargain Sale," by the Blue Bird Drama Club,.the players being Mesdames Campbell, Sargeant .O'Brien, Macpherson, and Miss Pat O'Brien, with Miss Shakespeare as prompter. The Misses Paton sang duets, and Mr. Dan Ross gave pianoforte solos.
A social evening was held recently, when Mr. Hutton and Miss Doreen Coulter, of the British Sailors' Society, were handed a donation of £55 towards the hostel. Mr. Hutton gave an interesting talk on the work of the society. A number of members helped at th° City Mission Fair on the White Elephant stall.
