SPEAR—CLAPSHAW.

The marriage took place on November 11, at St. John's Church, Featherston, of Sister Kathleen Helen, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. P A Clapshaw, to Warrant Offices Brian Ashley Spear, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. E. V. Spear, Palmerston North. The ceremony, which was fully choral was performed by the Reverend J. R Higgs. Mrs. Raper presided at the organ, and during the administering of the Sacrament, the choir sang "Spirit of the Living God." The bride was escorted by her father and looked charming in a fully-trained frock of white embroidered georgette. She carried a bouquet of white roses and amaryllis lilies. Her beautiful veil, held in .place with a top-knot of white roses, was lent by her cousin. . j

She was attended by four bridesmaids, Miss Molly Clapshaw and Miss Olwyn Clapshaw, sisters, and Misses Sylvia and Betty Spear, sisters of the bridegroom. They were dressed alike in biue taffeta frocks and carried bouquets of crimson roses. They wore the same coloured roses in their hair. : After the ceremony a reception was held at the Town Hall. Later the bride and bridegroom left for a tour of the North Island. The bride's travelling costume was fawn and brown Harris tweed, with brown accessories.
