HERE AND THERE
Kiwis in Hospital Entertained. Under the leadership of Mrs. A. MacKinnon, the Victoria League girls recently gave their fina) concert before Christmas to-the returned Kiwis at the iHutt Hospital. The show was packed i with humour and action, and went with a non-stop smoothness that was a credit.to Hie girls. The Maori melodies, j action songs, and dances, were especij ally popular. After the final curtain i the girls handed round cigarettes, ! sweets, and a piece of: Christmas cake to each patient. Ngaio Mothers. The final meeting for the year of the Ngaio branch of the League of Mothers was held in November, Mrs. B. A. Sarginson. presided. Members stood iin silence in sympathy with Mrs. W. S. Rollings, whose husband had passed away since the last meeting/ The speaker, Mrs. Liddon, gave a bright ■talk on the progress of the British Drama League. She also gave elocutionary items, and Mrs. Markham sang. On behalf of the members, the secretary thanked Mrs. Sarginson for her interest in, and work for, the league during the year.
