SINGING CONTESTS

The annual solo singing contests in connection with Mr. Temple White's junior choirs were held on Saturdayafternoon, with the Rev. L. North as adjudicator. Silver medals for the best boy and the best girl over 13 were given by Mr. H. G. Mayer, and prizes of books by Mr. M. S. Galloway and others. The results were:—Boys: Graeme Ramsay, 1; Graham Simpson, 2; Alistair Price, 3. Junior girls: Delysia Hills, 1; Helen Johnston, 2; Valeric Spencer, 3. Senior girls: Patricia McGowan, 1; Pamela Boardman, 2; Joan Field and Jean Miller, equal, 3; and Margaret Bognuda and Dawn Hooper, highly commended. Duets: Mario Farland and Nancy Galloway, I; Margaret Bognuda and Dawn Beardsmore, 2.
