P.A. GISBORNE, This Day. Completely rebutting an inference of Mr. G. A. Hayden, Secretary, of the National Patriotic Fund Board, who remarked after the recent patriotic radio appeal that he could not understand such a small amount being raised by Gisborne, Mr. M. J. Whyte, treasurer of the East Coast Patriotic Council, states that he has, two months before completion of the board's financial year, remitted to the board a cheque for £4274, representing the final balance of the council's quota to
