BOWLING SEASON
PENNANT COMPETITIONS
Plans for the coming season were adopted at a meeting of the Wellington Bowling Centre last night, when the draw for the pennant and other competitions was confirmed. It was reported that 32 teams had entered for the senior pennants, 18 for the junior, and 13 for the midweek. The senior pennant games would be played in four sections.
It was decided that the first round of the senior and junior pennant competitions be played on November 24 and that the midweek pennant competition start on November 24. The country clubs intimated that they did not favour a resumption of pennant games, and it was agreed to leave the country pennant competition in abeyance.. Official visits by the centre were fixed as follows:—To Plimmerton, October 31; to Paraparaumu Beach, November 14; and to Paekakariki, December 12. The president (Mr. J. Norrie) said that he would attend the opening of the Paraparaumu Beach Club's season next Saturday.
