REPRESENTATIVE GAMES

Statements presented by Mr. G. F. W. Jackson (treasurer) at last night's meeting of the Wellington Rugby Union's management committee showed that £667 14s 7d was the net balance from the Army inter-Island match for the National Patriotic Fund Board, and that the N.Z.R.U. realised £900 13s 9d from its inter-Island match.

Advice of Auckland's acceptance of a return match with Wellington, to be played at Athletic Park on October 2, was received from the Auckland Rugby Union, which also stated that the team would be accompanied by a manager and .the seelctor (Mr. F. W. Lucas).

It was reported that Manawatu's team to meet Wellington next Saturday would include several ex-Welling-tqn players who were now in the services. As a result some changes would be necessary in the Wellington team. The match, it was stated, would commence at 2.30 p.m., and would be preceded by a match between the Hardham Cup winners (Johnsonville) and the Hutt Railway apprentices. Professor E. J. Boyd-Wilson was appointed the union's official with the Manawatu team and Mr. J. D. King as the Wellington team's manager.

The University Club was granted permission to play its annual match for the Jack Ruru Memorial Shield at Kelburn Park next Saturday, and the playing of the railway workshops' match, Hutt v.Otahuhu, for the Myers Cup and Lancaster Shield at Wellington on October 2 was authorised. A match between the Wellington and Hutt Valley primary school representatives was decided upon as the cur-tain-raiser for the Wellington Canterbury match on September 25.

WELLINGTON CHANGES

Several changes have been made in the Wellington Rugby representative teams to play Auckland and Manawatu next Saturday. In the team for Auckland Rawlings and Southee replace Stanaway. and Firmin, with Dougan and Amies now included as emergencies. Players now chosen for the Manawatu match are: Kent, Sanson, S. Jaeger, Hastings, Mullin, MacMorran, and Dolden (backs), MacLennan, Jackson (Eastbourne), Foley, Firmin Stanaway, S. Mcßride, Flaws, and Cleverley (forwards), with Norton, Powell, Dellabarca, and Treewek as emergencies." The teams are to train at the Oriental gymnasium tomorrow night.

ARMY V. AIR FORCE

The New Zealand Services Rugby match, Army v. Air Force, to be played at Dunedin next Saturday under the auspices of the A.E.W.S., will have many well-known Rugby representatives as participants. The teams are:—
