PATRIOTIC FUNDS
USE BY ORGANISATIONS
A circular issued by the Hon. Vincent Ward, M.L.C., honorary secretary of the Wellington Provincial Patriotic Council, re-emphasises the fact that the eleven provincial councils not only have the responsibility of raising funds for their own functions on behalf of servicemen and women, but are also responsible for building up fhe National Patriotic Fund upon which the various welfare organisations depend for their, war work.
While the many fine organisations, were rightly given credit for their work, says the circular, it is patriotic moneys and goods, which the provingcial councils supply to the National Board, that enable all these bodies to" function.
The circular points out that the number of New Zealand men and women in the services is greater than last year, and expresses the hope thai/ the people of the Wellington province.which supplies the National Funff Board with 22 per cent, of the totalit distributes overseas, will again play. their part in the patriotic effort with" the same enthusiasm, energy, and friendliness displayed in the past. -.-
