ECONOMIC PACT BETWEEN REICH AND JAPAN
LONDON, January 21. Germany and Japan yesterday signed an economic treaty which is similar to the Italian-Japanese treaty signed in R6me. These treaties were given a special announcement from Hitler's headquarters, which explained that they supplemented and extended the Tripartite Pact and ratified the continuance of long-term economic planning among them. The announcement added: "Hereby the great economic spheres of Europe and Asia are to be exploited with all their strength for total war against our enemies. Simultaneously there is. being created the basis for post-war economic collaboration among the three countries."
