MORE SHIPS SUNK
(Rec. 11 a.m.) RUGBY, January 21. A Cairo communique states: "Allied aircraft continued to attack enemy troops and transport at a number of points in the Tripoli area. Fighter bombers maintained steady pressure, while in Tripoli harbour hits •were scored on a mole by heavy bombers. "Large-scale bombing operations were carried out on Tuesday night, when the airfield at Castel "Benitq was attacked with good results. Tripoli and targets in the battle area were also bombed, and night fighters, giving the enemy no respite, inflicted considerable damage on concentrations of transport. "Two enemy supply ships off the Tunisian coast were attacked by naval torpedo aircraft. One ship was seen to blow up and. sink, and the other was badly damaged. Another aircraft damaged a third ship in the same area, and yesterday a fourth ship was torpedoed and sunk in the Aegean Sea. Three of our aircraft are missing from these and other operations."—3.O.W.
