LADY GALWAY GUILD

It was stated at a meeting yesterday of the Lady Galway Patriotic Guild committee that 200 garments had been made by the workers . since the last meeting, and that many cases of clothing had been packed ready for shipment overseas. Seventy-five cases of clothing had been dispatched, including six cases sent to the Governor of Malta for the people on the island. Parcels of clothing had been sent in to the rooms during the month by the United Guild (Palmerston North), Red Cross Society, Hautanau (Tokomaru Bay), Marlborough Provincial Patriotic Council (Blenheim), Titahi Bay Ladies' Sewing Guild, Ngaroma Croquet Club /Petone), Woburn Croquet Club, Foxton Women's Emergency Corps, Levin Women's Patriotic. Committee, and the Lower Hutt branch.

Bales of denims received for repair had been attended to; some of them were distributed to Eastbourne and Seatoun, others to groups of workers at the rooms, and a parcel was to be sent to Marton at the request of the local Women's War Service Auxiliary. Scraps of material donated by wellwishers realised £1 6s' 7d for guild funds.
