The Germans are manifestly disconcerted by the Russian resistance at Stalingrad. A Berlin spokesman stated that no turning-point had yet been reached in the battle. The Russians' sudden ability to counter-attack in considerable strength with complete fresh divisions foreshadowed a longer siege than had been expected.—B.O.W.
