LETTER FROM WASHINGTON

Mrs. H. R. Black (formerly Miss Jean Plimmer), of Wellington, and now a resident of Chevy Chase, Maryland, a suburb of Washington, D.C., writes to say that she had the pleasure of meeting Mrs. Nash (wife of the Hon. Walter Nash), and enjoyed afternoon tea at the New Zealand Legation, where she also met Mr. Nash. Mrs. Black writes that the Legation "does New Zealand proud," and that Mrs. Nash and Miss McKenzie (Mr, Nash's secretary) were entrusted with the task of selecting the furnishings. Mrs. Black says that both "Mr. and Mrs. Nash are popular in Washington. Commodore Parry, formerly of H.M.S. Achilles, was tendered a party as he passed through Washington, en route: to' England.
