FLOODS IN INDIA
NEW DELHI., Aug.
Hundreds of people were rendered homeless by the floods in the River Jumna, which destroyed villages, pastures, and crops. The river is still rising. Villagers, accompanied by their sheep and goats, are being rescued from their homes in boats. Groups of refugees, with their belongings, line the grand trunk road awaiting Government evacuation.
