PEOPLE'S MOVEMENT DISSOLVED

LONDON, August 15,

Mr. W. J. Brown (Independent), Captain A. S. Cunningham-Reid (Conservative), and Mr. E. L. Granville (National Liberal), members of Parliament, jointly issued a statement announcing that the People's Movement had been dissolved. The movement was formed in an attempt to diminish the excessive and dangerous power of the party caucuses of both sides of the House of Commons, and more especially to fight for the l-ight of independent candidates to challenge party caucuses at by-elections. This second object had now been largely achieved, and the promoters now desired to devote themselves to questions of public policy. ..■•.■
