PROVISION FOR THEIR CARE

It will be heartening news for those who- have relatives serving overseas in rfie New Zealand Army Nursing Service that, as is the case with soldiers, ample, provision has.been made for the welfare and care of returned sisters and nurses, states-the "New Zealand Herald." More particularly is this the case of those who, owing to ill health or war disability, may be unable to resume their profession. Oh their return the nurses are medically boarded by the Army Department and if sick they are given suitable treatment to restore, them to health. If permanently unfit they ard granted a pension. Immediately they are fit for duty, .by reporting to. Miss. Willis, matron-in-chief of the New Zealand Army Nursing Services, or Miss M. I Lambie. Director of Nursing Services, i a suitable position will be arranged! for them. Miss H. Comrie, matron of the Northern Command, said that everything possible was being done for returned nurses. They receive full pay from the Army for three months after their return to New Zealand, after which they become the responsibility of the Social Security War Pensions' Department. The Returned Army Nursing Sisters' Association, comprising isfsters of the last war, is endeavouring to build up a fund to get a residential club in Auckland for past and present returned sisters.,- . .
