MAORI CHARGED
ASSAULT & MANSLAUGHTER ALLEGED
Charges arising from incidents in Boulcott Street on May 30 were called in the Magistrate's Court today against. David Waitoa, Maori soldier and labourer, aged 40, and he was remanded until Wednesday by Mr. J. L. Stout. S.M., on the application of the police He was charged, with assaulting Hori Papa Tupe so as to cause him actual bodily harm, and also with unlawfully killing Maude Purcell, thereby committing manslaughter.
