BOARD TO INVESTIGATE
COAL INDUSTRY QUESTIONS
RUGBY, June 5,
Wage questions which have been the subject of negotiations, between the employers and the workers in the coal Industry are to be referred immediately to a board of investigation. Lord Greene, Master fcf the Rolls, will be chairman of the board, which it is officially stated will also make recommendations for the establishment of permanent machinery for dealing witb questions of wages and conditions. The Mine workers' Federation has decided to accept the Government's proposals for reorganisation of the coal industry, and states that it is ready to present wage claims to the Government tribunal.
The Government's proposals ax*e to1 be debated in Parliament during the next series of sittings.—B.O.W.
