The resignation of Dr. J. T. Campbell from the staff of Victoria University College was reported to the College Council at a meeting last night. Dr. Campbell is to undertake special work in the Navy.

Mr. Winston H. Turner has been appointed the special representative of the Australian Associated Press in the Netherlands East Indies, with headquarters, for the present, in Batavia. Mr. Turner, who was released for this assignment by the Sydney "Sun," was previously > with the A.A.P. both in London and New York.

Reference to the death in a motor accident", in Equatorial Sudan, of Dr. John G. Myers was made by the principal (Sir Thomas Hunter) at a meeting of the Victoria University College Council last night. Sir Thomas said that the Empire had suffered a very severe loss through the death of Dr. Myers, who was a celebrated entomologist and a former student of the college. Members stood in silence as a mark of respect.
