ATTACK FROM SIAM
REPULSED BY ALLIES
LONDON, February 25.. Chungking reports that an enemy attack launched recently in northern Siam witb the Burma Road as its objective was repulsed by Allied and Chinese forces. The enemy started to cross a river to the northwards but heavy casualties were inflicted on the Japanese troops. China's desire that India and China should be linked by air transport was expressed by the Chinese Government spokesman. He pointed out the vital importance of an air route between the two countries in view of the extension of the war to Burma and the position of the port of Rangoon.
