LADY GALWAY GUILD
MEETING AT GOVERNMENT
HOUSE
Her Excellency Lady Newall presided at the quarterly, meeting of the Dominion executive of the New Zealand Lady Galway Patriotic Guild, which was held recently at Government House. At this meeting great satisfaction was expressed at the quantity of clothing that has been sent to England by the guild. Appreciation of the quality of the goods sent from New Zealand was conveyed in letters received from Lady Reading, chairman of the Women's Voluntary Services, in whose hands the sole distribution of I the clothing, when it reaches England, [is entrusted. FOR EMERGENCY HERE. The importance of the instructions issued by the executive to branches of the guild throughout the Dominion was stressed. Each branch is asked to hold a quantity of warm clothing in readiness to meet any emergency that might arise in New Zealand. They are asked to retain this clothing for distribution among people of the district affected by a raid or some such contingency, and not to. forward the entire collection to the nearest centre or to headquarters.
A comprehensive quarterly report was presented by Mrs. Knox Gilmer.
