Mr. H. F. O'Leary. K.C., left Wellington yesterday to attend the Supreme Court sessions at Gisborne.
Dr. F. J. Filmer, of the animal disease research division of the Department of Agriculture, arrived in Hamilton from Wellington yesterday.
Mr. A. O. Glasse, chief engineer of the Auckland Electric Power Board, succeeds Mr. M. C. Henderson, of Dunedin, as president of the New Zealand Institution of Engineers. The N.Z.I.E. annual conference is being held in Wellington.
Mr. D. J. Cummings, Commissioner of Police, has returned to Wellington from Auckland.
Mr. W. V. Dyer, acting chairman, was yesterday appointed chairman of the Wellington College Board of Governors, in succession to Mr. L. McKenzie, who has resigned owing to ill health. An appreciation of Mr. McKenzie's services was placed on record, and the board expressed regret at his retirement. - .. .
