CIVIL HOSPITALS
PROTECTIVE DESIGN
Though only military hospitals can claim the protection of the Red Cross, under international agreement, provision is made in The Hague Convention for the marking of civil hospitals and other public buildings not used for military purposes with a distinguishing mark consisting of a ., rectangle divided diagonally, one division being black and the other white.
